NDC deregistration: Nigerians seeing Tinubu’s true colours, says Atiku

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has strongly condemned what he described as a legal effort to deregister the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), calling it a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy.

Reacting to the reported legal moves against the NDC, Atiku said he was not surprised, arguing that the development reflects what he believes is a broader pattern of actions aimed at weakening the country’s democratic institutions.

According to Atiku, the alleged attempt to remove the NDC from the register of political parties is part of a wider strategy by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consolidate political power. He claimed that such actions could gradually push Nigeria toward becoming a de facto one-party state.

Atiku urged Nigerians and democratic stakeholders to remain vigilant and committed to protecting the nation’s democratic values, emphasizing the importance of preserving political pluralism and the rule of law.
